Pediatric Therapy
Pediatric therapy and rehabilitation services are provided through the Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic located at WK Canterbury Square located at Willis-Knighton South & the Center for Women’s Health.
Pediatrics & NICU Follow up Clinic
Pediatric rehabilitation therapists evaluate newborns, infants and children to determine if any developmental delays are present. If problems are found, an individualized treatment plan is implemented to begin the developmental therapy process.
Pediatric Outpatient Services
Willis-Knighton uses a multidisciplinary approach to evaluate and treat children for a variety of diagnoses. Upon referral from a physician, formal evaluations are completed, and individual treatment plans are developed to create an integrated and comprehensive plan. Children, parents and therapists work together to establish treatment goals and coordinate services with the school system when necessary.
Infant Feeding Program
Young infants feed primarily by sucking. While this is extremely efficient, the process involves a very complex interaction of multiple systems. The infant must coordinate the suck, swallow and breathing skills while managing neurobehavioral states.
Pediatric Tracheostomy/Ventilator Care Clinic
This clinic at Willis-Knighton South offers expert care for children with tracheostomy and for children who are ventilator-dependent. The multidisciplinary team includes: pediatric intensivist, Ear, nose and throat specialist, Respiratory therapist, Nurse, Dietitian, and a Social worker.
Quick Care Kids Urgent Care
When your child has a minor illness or injury and your pediatrician is not available, Quick Care Kids is your best choice for care. It’s open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and no appointment is necessary. This kid-friendly environment is designed to provide primary care when your pediatrician is not available and the illness or injury is a minor one, it’s the right place for your child’s care.
Shots for Tots
Shots For Tots is a community service of Willis-Knighton Health System that’s designed to assure that all children in our community can receive childhood immunizations. The Shots for Tots mobile unit visits locations across the community each month to make the immunizations easy to obtain.
Willis-Knighton agreed to continue this vital program when the state’s health department had planned to close it due to budget problems. Willis-Knighton operates and staffs the mobile unit. Vaccines are provided by the federally funded Vaccines for Children program.
