Cancer Rehabilitation

Individuals recovering from cancer often experience a variety of secondary health problems caused from the disease as well as from various treatment regimens such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

Some of the most common side effects include:

  • Extreme fatigue and weakness
  • Pain
  • Balance difficulties with increased risk of falls
  • Skin changes or wounds
  • Significant swelling in various parts of the body due to the removal of lymph nodes (lymphedema)
  • Swallowing difficulties secondary to tumors or radiation

In addition to the comprehensive array of cancer related services available, Willis Knighton offers physical rehabilitation services to address these common but serious health problems. Rehabilitation therapists provide education, prevention techniques and treatment of each of these acute and chronic conditions.

The program offers a multidisciplinary team and includes: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, counseling and case management.
