Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerators

Among the options available for external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) at Willis-Knighton is the Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator. Willis-Knighton Cancer Center has two matched Versa HD machines that offer the latest in linear accelerator technology, including sophisticated image-guidance, precise patient positioning using a six degree-of-freedom HexaPOD platform, and advanced radiation delivery. This technology provides improved dose shaping to treated areas while helping to lower radiation doses to areas that we want to protect, such as healthy organs.

Additionally, both Elekta Versa HD units have been equipped with C-RAD optical surface guided imaging to facilitate patient setup, monitor patient motion during treatment, and facilitate breath-hold procedures to limit target motion when necessary.
