Community Health Needs Assessment
Willis Knighton Health is required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to identify the community’s health needs by conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). This formal assessment was conducted by Forvis Mazars on behalf of the health system in 2025 with the overall goal of identifying the major healthcare needs, barriers to access, and health priorities for those living in Northwest Louisiana. The analysis included a review of past and present health data, demographics and community input from numerous representatives.
Based upon secondary quantitative data, firsthand community input, the needs evaluation process, and the prioritization of those needs, the following health needs priorities have been identified and chosen for inclusion within Willis Knighton’s community health needs implementation plan(s):
-
Mental Health and Mental Disorders
- Preventative Care (Mammography Screening)
- Vaccination (Flu Vaccinations – esp. among minorities)
- Health Care (Preventable Hospital Stays)
- Healthcare Access and Quality (Primary Care Physicians, Mental Health Providers)
The implementation plans will attempt to address these prioritized community health needs and focus Willis Knighton’s efforts on influencing effective change for the good of the community.
