Brainlab Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Willis-Knighton performs highly precise Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) utilizing Brainlab’s frameless mask and positioning solution, including ExacTrac x-ray image guidance, coupled to one of our Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators. SRS is a non-invasive type of radiation therapy used to treat tumors and abnormalities of the brain and spine with surgical precision. Unlike older cobalt and accelerator frame-based systems that required a fixation device to be rigidly attached to the skull, our modern frameless mask system is patient-friendly while still achieving the pinpoint accuracy required for radiosurgery.
