When You Arrive

When you are in labor, enter through the hospital Emergency Room (South/Bossier/Pierremont) and tell the admitting desk staff you believe you are in labor. To make this as quick and easy as possible, you should preregister with the hospital during your pregnancy. Preregistration can be completed in the Admitting Department during normal operating hours Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Preregistration is also available during the prenatal tour, so sign up for that free class and you’ll be registered then.

• Admitting staff will give you an identification wristband to wear throughout your time with us.
• A staff member will take you to the Labor & Delivery unit in a wheelchair.

Here are some tips for your support person or driver:

• Drop off the mother-to-be and park the car. Cars cannot be left in driveways or drop off locations at the hospital.
• Keep the suitcase with clothes for mom and the baby in the car until after the baby is born.
