Your Visit/Patient Experience
After your initial consultation with one of our board-certified radiation oncologists, we will work with you to determine if theranostics is ideal for you. The work-up and staging process may include:
- Laboratory tests (such as PSA tests and blood cell counts)
- Staging PET/CT scan
- Other diagnostic imaging, including MRI
- SPECT/CT scans
If our team determines that you are a candidate for radiopharmaceutical therapy, we will schedule your therapeutic infusions. Typical regimens use four to six infusions spaced weeks apart. Before each infusion, we will take a blood test to monitor your overall health. This is an outpatient procedure, so you will be discharged on the same day of your treatment. You may be scheduled for SPECT/CT or PET/CT scans throughout treatment to evaluate your ongoing response.
After completing therapy, we will continue to track your progress through routine PET/CT scans and follow-up appointments with your doctor.
