Admission Guidelines
Patients must:
- Be medically stable with initial diagnostic work up complete.
- Have daily need of two or more of the following rehabilitation services: physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech pathology which would be impractical to provide in the home health or outpatient environment.
- Require a short term stay of two to three weeks with high probability of returning to the home environment
- Be able to follow one-step commands and carry over learning from day to day
- Have Medicare or commercial insurance with skilled nursing facility benefits. This unit is not licensed as a Medicaid provider but can accept it as secondary coverage.
If patients meet the daily therapy requirement, Willis-Knighton Extended Care Center can also provide the following skilled nursing services:
- Oral, IV or Injectable Medications on the ECC approved list.
- Wound Care (excluding wound vacs)
- Radiation
- Tracheostomy Care
