Lyubov Olenina, M.D. was born in Astrakhan, Russia, and grew up in a family of physicians. She received her medical degree from The Astrakhan State Medical Academy in 2002. She was the class president for three years and received honors equivalent to summa cum laude upon graduation. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Florida Hospital Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, and subspecialty fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Thyroid Association and the American Diabetes Association.
