A native of Shreveport, Dr. Clemons graduated from Loyola College Prep before entering Southern Methodist University in Dallas. With two parents who are physicians, she had an interest in medicine and earned her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport at LSU Health Sciences Center. She moved to New Orleans for an internship at Ochsner in internal medicine followed by a residency in dermatology at Tulane University Medical Center. While at Tulane, she was chief resident of the cosmetic and surgery clinics.

Dr. Clemons is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. As a dermatologist she performs dermatologic surgery for both children and adults and has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and surgery.

Dr. Clemons is married to Shreveport native Patrick Garrett. The couple lives in Shreveport with their three children.
