Dr. Byrd graduated from Louisiana College and earned his medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Today he focuses on gynecologic care for women, with a focus on wellness exams and hormone replacement therapy. He is dedicated to training young physicians and has been a lecturer at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport for 30 years.
