Dr. Dmitri Aleksenko is an American Board Certified Neurologist (American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology) practicing General Neurology and sub-specializing in Headache Medicine. He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and American Headache Society (AHS).
Dr. Aleksenko completed his Neurology Residency at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport (Shreveport, LA) along with an Internal Medicine Internship at University at Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) and a Headache Medicine Fellowship at the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY).
Dr. Aleksenko graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine (St. George's, Grenada) and has an Hons. Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University (Toronto, Canada).
Dr. Aleksenko believes that in addition to pharmacotherapy, lifestyle assessment and modification (including healthy diet, exercise, proper sleep habits and stress reduction) are important components in managing a variety of neurological diseases and often yields the best results.
Dr. Aleksenko offers evaluation and management of different neurological conditions including: migraines, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, occipital neuralgias, seizures, multiple sclerosis, stoke and transient ischemic attack (TIA). Procedures including therapeutic Botox injections, nerve blocks for headaches and trigger point injections are available.
Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Dr. Aleksenko grew up in Toronto, Canada and has spent the last decade in the U.S., now residing in Shreveport, Louisiana with his wife and daughter.
