Dr. Diego Miranda is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand and microsurgeon. After completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Navy Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Miranda worked with world recognized orthopaedic hand surgeon Dr. Eduardo A. Zancolli. During this time, he developed a special interest in hand, wrist and elbow surgery.
During his fellowship training at C.M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Ky., Dr. Miranda received specialized training from world renowned hand surgeons including Dr. Harold Kleinert, who is widely regarded as a pioneer of hand surgery in the United States. As a result of this association, Dr. Miranda has developed advanced techniques in microsurgery and other reconstructive procedures for the upper and lower extremities.
Dr. Miranda offers advanced hand surgery procedures including but not limited to endoscopic carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel release, mini-incision carpal tunnel release, surgical and non-surgical treatment of arthritis, treatment of complex fractures and dislocations of the whole upper limb, small joint replacement of the hand and wrist and wrist arthroscopy. Dr. Miranda has a vast experience in complex trauma of the hand, wrist and elbow.
In the last three years he has provided general orthopaedic services for the regional trauma center in Alexandria, La. He will continue providing general orthopaedic services, including minimally invasive primary joint replacement.
A native of Buenos Aires, Dr. Miranda is a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery, Kleinert Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Argentine Orthopaedic Association.
