Meet Dr. Destin Black

Dr. Black graduated from medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and served her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology there. Following, residency, she was accepted for a four-year surgical fellowship at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where she was named the top surgical fellow at graduation.

A cum laude scholar, she received the American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award, Lucy Wortham James Research Award, and Michael E. Burt Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence.

Dr. Black has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters. She was selected to serve on the program committee for the 2008 Society of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting.

She is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Black is part of the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and is Director of Gynecologic Oncology at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
