People with mobility issues who visit Shreveport City Court will now be assisted by the addition of four wheelchairs through a donation by Willis Knighton Health. Willis Knighton President and CEO Jaf Fielder presented the wheelchairs to City Marshall James Jefferson Wednesday in a presentation on the campus of Willis Knighton North.
An estimated 60,000 people come through the Shreveport City Court each year, and the demand for wheelchairs to assist people who have difficulty moving around independently has increased. The wheelchairs will also enable deputies to move people who are having medical issues closer to emergency medical services that can provide additional care.
The region’s healthcare leader and largest philanthropic organization continues to exhibit its giving spirit by investing in worthy organizations and activities. Willis Knighton Health’s tithe-the-bottom-line philosophy of giving makes the health organization a vital community partner that elevates the health and quality of life of people who live here.
