Mohammed Syed, MD, has joined Internal Medicine Associates in Shreveport, part of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network.

Dr. Syed grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in computational biology from the University of Toronto. He obtained his medical degree from Medical University of the Americas and completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Michigan. During medical school, he performed clinical rotations in New York City, Chicago and Houma, Louisiana. He enjoyed Louisiana culture, cuisine and people, which led him back to the state to practice medicine.

He enjoys interacting with people and believes having a positive relationship with patients is vital to their health. “I treat patients as a total person, not just their medical ailments, but in general,” he says. “I ask them how they’re doing. I like to work with patients to formulate a plan to treat them and help them meet their goals.”

In this spare time, Dr. Syed enjoys sports and the outdoors and is always ready for an adventure.
