Mark Callanan, Jr., MD, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, has joined The Orthopaedic Clinic located in the WK Portico Center at 7925 Youree Drive in Shreveport.
Dr. Callanan comes to Willis-Knighton from the Andrews Research and Educational Foundation, where he completed a fellowship in orthopedics and sports medicine under the guidance of legendary orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, MD. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery program in Boston. Dr. Callanan earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and a Master of Arts degree from Boston University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from Michigan State University.
“Some people don’t understand what ‘sports medicine’ means,” Dr. Callanan says. “You don’t have to be a high-level athlete to see me. You can be somebody who walks around the block. If you are having pain and it’s keeping you from doing the activities you like to do daily, that’s what we’re here for.”
The Orthopaedic Clinic also includes H. Ryan Bicknell, Jr., MD; J. Scott Bicknell, MD; Cambize Shahrdar, MD; Milan Mody, MD; John Ferrell, MD; Edward Morgan, MD; James ZumBrunnen, MD; Jason D. Kinkartz, MD, and Henry C. Hilario, DPM.
Dr. Callanan and his partners welcome new patients and accept most insurance plans.
