Prakash Peddi, MD, has joined Hematology/Oncology Associates located inside the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport. The practice also includes Robert A. Nickelson, MD; Joyce E. Feagin, MD; Maxwell C. McDonald, III, MD; Anil Veluvolu, MD;  Nihar Patel, MD, and Tyler D. Lash, MD.

Dr. Peddi earned a Master of Science degree in molecular biology and biotechnology from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., and a medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in India. He moved to Shreveport for an internship and residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and completed a fellowship at the same institution.

Prior to joining Hematology/Oncology Associates Dr. Peddi was a professor of medicine at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. He was director of sarcoma research at Feist-Weiller Cancer. Center and also served as associate director of breast cancer research for that organization. He has coauthored more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Peddi holds memberships in the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified in medical oncology by the same organization.

Hematology Oncology Associates welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
