Jennifer Cameron Hart, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, a nurse practitioner with the Willis-Knighton Physician Network, has received the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) 2017 State Award for Excellence. The only nurse in Louisiana to receive the designation, Hart accepted the award at the group’s national conference in Philadelphia, Pa., on June 23.
With this award, the AANP recognizes a nurse practitioner in each state who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice and who has made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and acceptance of NPs.
Hart is the nurse practitioner working with D.J. Moller, Jr., MD, of Internal Medicine Associates, assisting with patients in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
A native of Alexandria, Hart is a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2004, master’s degree in 2009 and her doctorate in 2016.
“I am extremely humbled to receive this award,” Hart says. “There are many great nurse practitioners in this area and in the state, and to receive this award is quite an honor.”
