Gerard D. Henry, MD, has joined Ark-La-Tex Urology and Prostate Cancer Institute, with offices in Bossier City, Shreveport, Springhill and Minden. Dr. Henry will be available at the Bossier office and at the group’s new office at WK Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport.
The practice includes W. Stewart Bundrick, MD, and Christopher M. Wilson, MD.
Dr. Henry is certified by the American Board of Urology. He completed his undergraduate education at St. John’s University in Minnesota and received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. Following that he began extensive postgraduate education at Duke University Medical Center with two years in general surgery, three years in urology and a basic science research fellowship in erectile dysfunction. He entered private practice in 2001 in Arkansas and moved to Shreveport in 2004.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Henry has also served as a clinical associate professor of urology at LSU Health Science Center and Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Sexual Medicine Society, International Society for the Study of Impotence Research, American Urologic Association, Society of Prosthetic Urologic Surgeons and local and state medical societies. A recognized expert in the field of erectile dysfunction, Dr. Henry has published and or presented more than 100 times, sharing his expertise with colleagues in the field. He has also performed clinical research to advance the practice of urology.
