Urodynamic Testing
This is a group of tests we use to find problems with the urinary tract. We may use one or more tests, depending on your symptoms.
Pressure tests
Do you have sudden urges to pee? Do you sometimes pee without meaning to? We may do pressure tests on the inside of your bladder. That's the organ that holds your pee. A pressure test lets us learn things like how much pee your bladder can hold, what triggers your urge to pee, and what's causing your bladder to leak.
Electrical stimulation tests
We can also do electrical stimulation tests. We stimulate the muscles and nerves that control your bladder. This shows if you have muscle or nerve damage that's preventing your bladder from working properly.
Other tests
Do you have trouble starting to pee? Or trouble keeping it going? We may want to test the flow of your pee. To do this, we measure how quickly you urinate. This shows if you have weak bladder muscles or some type of blockage. Do you have trouble emptying your bladder all the way? We can do a test to see how much pee is left in your bladder after you urinate.
Conclusion
After your testing is done, follow your care plan. Your doctor will contact you soon to discuss your results.
