Partial Hip Resurfacing (Wright)
Overview
This surgery replaces the diseased and damaged parts of the femur (thigh bone) with a metal ball component.
Damaged Bone Removed
After the femur is separated from the hip socket, the damaged area is removed. The ball is reshaped to fit the femur implant.
Component Attached
A metal ball component is attached to the reshaped femur.
End of Procedure
The new ball is joined to the hip socket to form the new hip joint.
