Chemical Peel: Light (AHA Peel)
Overview
This treatment rejuvenates the skin of your face. It helps the appearance of fine wrinkles, acne, blotchy skin and dryness.
Procedure
To begin, your skin is cleaned. The doctor applies a chemical solution to your skin. It penetrates the skin's outer layer, called the "epidermis." The chemical damages this skin. And it begins to whiten. Then, the doctor washes away the chemical.
End of procedure
When the treatment is finished, your doctor may cover your skin with ointment. Your skin will be red, dry and irritated. Within a week, a new outer layer of skin will form. You may need to have repeated treatments to get the result you want.
