High-tech patient care with a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of cancer is the hallmark of the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center. The center offers patients:
We treat the following cancers: prostate, lung, breast, colo-rectal, gynecologic (ovarian, cervical, vulvar, endometrial, etc.), hepatobilliary (liver, pancreas, etc.), head and neck.
Willis-Knighton Cancer Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology following a review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Radiation oncology (radiation therapy) is the careful use of high-energy radiation to treat cancer. A radiation oncologist may use radiation to cure cancer or to relieve a cancer patient’s pain.
Earlier in 2016 Willis-Knighton Health System purchased two Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators as part of the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center’s continuing technology upgrades. The first of the accelerators has been installed, and patients are currently being treated using this advanced linear accelerator technology.
