Ambulance Transport
In some instances, a patient may require a specialty that is available at another Willis-Knighton location. Willis-Knighton Ambulance Transport will transfer patients, accompanied by the appropriate staff and equipment for the short trip. The Willis-Knighton Ambulance Transport staffing is based on patient needs. Our transport system has been in place for more than 30 years and has a variety of skilled support staff, including Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists and Registered Nurses.
Life Air Rescue
Life Air Rescue is operated by a private company. It was formed in 1993 to provide emergency and critical care transport via helicopter for patients with critical needs. Based in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, Life Air Rescue responds to emergency calls and transfers to hospitals throughout North Louisiana, South Arkansas and East Texas. Flight crew staff include Paramedics and Registered Nurses who hold advanced certifications as well as knowledge of specialized medical treatment protocols and capabilities.
