Dr. Aultman graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical School. His internship was in General Surgery and his fellowship was in Transplantation Surgery, both at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport. He also completed a fellowship in Pancreatic Surgery at the University of Minnesota. . In 1995 he became a Professor at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport. Dr. Aultman practices Endocrine Surgery at the Advanced Surgery Center at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in addition to Transplantation and is now full time with Willis-Knighton Health System.

Dr. Aultman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is involved in numerous organizations including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the Surgical Society of Louisiana, and the John C. McDonald Surgical Society.

He has published and co-authored numerous articles on organ transplantation in such publications as “Transplantation” and “Journal of American College of Surgeons”. He has presented papers at various conferences throughout the United States. Dr. Aultman has also served as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Surgery.
