Everyone experiences and expresses grief differently, often shaped by how their culture honors the process. It is not uncommon for a person to withdraw from their friends and family and feel helpless. Counseling helps people move through grief to health and resolution. Grief counseling helps to facilitate the expression of emotion and thought about the loss, including sadness, anxiety, anger, loneliness, guilt, relief, isolation, confusion, or numbness.
Willis-Knighton Cancer Center offers individual, family, group, grief, and spiritual counseling. Several support groups are available such as Look Good Feel Better, Feeling Better By Eating Right: Education in Nutrition, Education in Pain & Fatigue and General Cancer Support Group.
