Dermatologists at Ark-La-Tex Dermatology, part of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network, will participate in Melanoma Monday on May 1 as part of Melanoma Awareness Month.
Josephine Futrell, MD, PhD, Sarah Baker, MD, and Sarah Glorioso, MD, are members of the American Academy of Dermatology, and each year offer free screenings at both Ark-La-Tex Dermatology locations to promote the importance of early detection of skin cancer. The screening involves a brief visual check with a physician.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, can be effectively treated when identified at an early stage.
Screenings will be from 8 a.m. to noon in Ark-La-Tex Dermatology’s Bossier City office, 2300 Hospital Drive, Suite 400, with Dr. Futrell, and 1 to 5 p.m. with Dr. Baker.
Screenings will be from 8 a.m. to noon in the Shreveport office, 1811 East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 160, with Dr. Glorioso.
Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at wkhs.com or by calling the Willis-Knighton Community Education helpline, (318) 212-8225.
