Lori Roy, dietitian with the John C. McDonald Regional Transplant Center at Willis-Knighton, has been appointed to the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition (LBEDN) by Governor Bobby Jindal. Board membership is a three-year appointment.
LBEDN is the licensing board for dietitians and nutritionists and is under the direction of the Department of Health and Hospitals. LBEDN is responsible for consumer protection through the regulation of dietetic and nutrition practice. Their mission is to assure the consumer of qualified licensed professionals. The board also handles complaints filed by anyone who believes that an individual has acted illegally, irresponsibly or unprofessionally in providing care to a client.
Roy has been employed with Willis-Knighton for two years.
