Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine to Host Coaches’ Symposium

In an effort to better educate coaches on important issues pertaining to student athletes like injury prevention, strength and conditioning as well as proper nutrition, Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine is hosting a coaches’ symposium titled “Training for Success.” The free symposium will be held Thursday, May 24, at 6 p.m. in the Kerlin Memorial Conference Center inside Willis-Knighton Eye Institute at 2611 Greenwood Road in Shreveport.

Speakers include Kyle Pierce, Ed.D., CSCS, director of the USA Weightlifting Center for High Performance and Development at LSU in Shreveport, Kendrick Farris, 2008 USA Weightlifting Olympian and 2010 Pan American Champion, Doran McQueary, P.T., D.P.T., CSCS, Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine, Rob Graf, M.S., CSCS, AdvoCare International as well as orthopedic and sports medicine physicians Shane Barton, M.D., of The Orthopedic Clinic and John Mays, M.D., of the Bone and Joint Clinic.
