Registered dietitians at the Diabetes & Nutrition Center at Willis-Knighton offer comprehensive nutrition counseling, education and support. Services are provided in Willis-Knighton hospitals, at WK Fitness & Wellness Centers and through outpatient programs. Among the most popular programs are those dealing with diabetes self-management, weight control, and nutrition for cancer patients.
The Diabetes & Nutrition Center was the first diabetes self-management education program in the Shreveport-Bossier metropolitan area to be recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Comprehensive diabetes education is provided by Certified Diabetes Educators to empower patients to take an active role in the management of their disease. Specialized services available include insulin pump training, gestational diabetes management and intensive insulin therapy. In addition to diabetes management, medical nutrition therapy is provided by registered dietitians to assist in lifestyle management of weight control, and risk reduction of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, etc.

WK Weight & Wellness offers counseling and nutrition assessment for health lifestyles for both adults and children. Dietitians provide support for patients whether they are participating in medical or surgical weight loss programs.
